B.10 DEAN OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

General Statement of the Function : The Dean of Information Technology is responsible for implementing the College’s Management Information System and Student Information System, coordinating the management of the college Local Area Network (LAN) and desktop software, and performing systems analyses and programming work as required. The Dean of Information Technology reports directly to the Vice President for Business Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Manages, configures, and supports the College’s Management Information System and Student Information system, Jenzabar EX; 2. Coordinates the administration of the College’s database server, Windows SQL Server 2012; 3. Coordinates the administration of the College’s web servers that house the web portion of the College’s Management Information System and Student Information System – JICS; 4. Coordinates the management of the College’s LAN and Desktop support; 5. Coordinates and participates in the preparation of various institutional reports; 6. Writes SQL scripts to extract files for state reporting, network access, and third party software; 7. Coordinates the selection and procurement of information technology hardware and software for the College; 8. Coordinates the development of the short-range and long-range technology plans for the College; 9. Coordinates the assessment and improvement of the College’s information technology systems and planning process. 10. Provides documentation for Information Technology Management procedures; 11. Chairs the Technology Planning Committee (Ad Hoc); and 12. Performs other duties as assigned by the President or Vice President for Business Operations.
