B.8 DEAN OF ELEARNING EDUCATION

General Statement of the Function : The Dean of eLearning Education is responsible for: coordinating and maintaining eLearning for East Central Community College; working closely with the eLearning instructors; providing staff development for eLearning instructors; reviewing all courses taught and making recommendations to the Vice President for Instruction; coordinating all student procedures related to eLearning; and representing East Central at the state level for the Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC). The Dean of eLearning Education reports directly to the Vice President for Instruction. 1. Provides overall coordination for the teaching and learning activities of the eLearning Education program; 2. Provides leadership in evaluating the eLearning Education program and recommending improvements to the eLearning program to the Vice President for Instruction; 3. Assists the Vice President for Instruction with orienting, selecting, and training faculty who teach eLearning Education classes; 4. Plans, coordinates and implements all training for eLearning Education at the College; 5. Serves as the College’s main point of contact for the MSVCC; 6. Makes policy and procedure recommendations to the Vice President for Instruction regarding the College’s eLearning Education program; 7. Coordinates with personnel at the Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) with regard to all MSVCC teaching and learning issues and policies and keeps abreast of changes in state and national policies; 8. Provides coordination for all non-credit online training; 9. Works with the administration in the development of policies and guidelines for the College’s eLearning Education program; 10. Supervises data entry of course information into the MSVCC delivery system; 11. Supervises and reviews verification of audit reports for eLearning Education classes; 12. Assists with verification of the accuracy of eLearning Education grade reports; 13. Assists students with various administrative functions; 14. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the eLearning Education program; 15. Relates effectively with student, faculty, and staff; 16. Assists in establishing new eLearning Education courses; 17. Implements all policies and procedures of eLearning Education; 18. Prepares and disseminates all information regarding eLearning Education to students and faculty; 19. Chairs the eLearning Committee; 20. Supervises the College’s on-line testing center; and 21. Performs other duties as assigned by the President or Vice President for Instruction.
