B.7 DEAN OF WORKFORCE EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT
General Statement of the Function : This is a highly visible, professional level position. The Dean of Workforce Education and Development is responsible for building and maintaining a team of all those involved with work force education and development both credit and non-credit. This team will be cross- functional to provide for the needs of high performance companies as well as the world-class workforce they require. This position reports to the VP for Instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1. To develop and coordinate a team approach to workforce education and development that is seamless from secondary education to training with an emphasis on entrepreneurism; 2. To coordinate and supervise the activities of the following personnel and divisions: a. Director of Workforce Education (credit)
b. Director of Workforce Development (non-credit) c. Director of Small Business Development Center
d. Director of ABE/GED e. Tech/Prep Coordinator f. Other personnel related to workforce development, as authorized
3. To provide leadership in delivering workforce education, training and retraining for the College; 4. To provide consultation, support, and information for economic development based on local needs; 5. To represent the College with area and State workforce officials; 6. To provide leadership for curriculum development as it relates to workforce education and development; 7. To arrange for facilities for the housing of resources and for meetings to promote regional workforce improvement; 8. To provide for research and record keeping for activities related to workforce education and development; 9. To provide for in-service training and staff development needs of the workforce education and development team personnel; and 10. To perform other duties as assigned.
