ECCC Policies & Procedures

Deans, Directors and/or Division Chairs have responsibility for the review of hybrid courses in ensuring alignment of total student engagement time with face-to-face benchmarks. For online courses this responsibility lies with the Dean of eLearning. Any exceptions arising from said reviews should be forwarded to the Vice President for Instruction for resolution.

Calibration of Engaged Student Time to Student Learning Outcomes

All courses must have common defined student learning outcomes across multiple sections, even if delivered across varying modes of instruction. This commonality of outcomes is managed at the course level by the lead instructor as assigned by the responsible Dean, Director or Division Chair, and is documented in the course level student learning outcome section of the Institutional Effectiveness Plan. Fixed outcomes at the course level serve to calibrate the awarding of course credit to engaged student time across modes.
