During the last eight years the Wildcats and Warriors have each won four, back in '81 the War– riors took a last minute 21-18 decision, while the Wildcats won 28-1 4 in '80. The two years before that East Central took home 3-0 and 16-13 wins. In 1977, Pearl River won 27-23 and in '76 the Wildcats squeezed by 3-0. Overall the Wildcats have won 28, lost 12 and tied two against the War– riors. The Wildcats will not only be shooting for a homecoming win which would even their mark at 3-3 for the season, but a Wildcat win would cer– tainly throw the South Division into a mess. Jones, Gulf Coast and Hinds all have one loss each In the South. A Pearl River win would certain– ly confuse things and even give the 'Cats an out– side chance at the playoffs. Arban' s biggest concern is still his offense. Last week the Wildcats fumbled 10 times and were intercepted twice in their 14-6 win over Coahoma. East Central edged Holmes 7-0 last Saturday. Gametime this week is 8 p.m. instead of the regular 7:30 start. PRC's 1983 Homecoming Court will be presented at 7:30.

The Pearl River College Wildcats will have their hands full this Saturday when they take on the undefeated and nationally ranked East Central Warriors for Homecoming. East Central , a team which has won the Mississippi state championship only once, and that was back in 1939, is making its strongest bid in years. The Warriors have a perfect 5·0 record and 2-0 division mark and will be rated somewhere in the top 15 in the nation this week. A.J. Kilpatrick is the Warriors nomad coach who has led the Warriors into the '83 spotlight. Kilpatrick Is well known to PRC coaches and fans. He was the head coach of Northwest back in 1976 when the Wildcats won the state championship. He was also the coach of the Holmes Bulldogs back in 1981 when the Bulldogs ripped the 'Cats for the state crown. Last year, Kilpatrick's first year at East Central, the Wildcats won a hard fought 10-7 battle at Decatur. The Wildcats spoil– ed the Warrior's homecoming last year.
