D.35 PUBLICATIONS COORDINATOR

General Statement of the Function : The Publications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating production of the college newspaper, The Tom-Tom , and the college yearbook, the WO-HE-LO , in addition to assisting the Office of Public Information in overall college media, promotion, external and internal communications, and marketing initiatives. The Publications Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Public Information.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Serves as coordinator of The Tom-Tom , the college newspaper. 2. Serves as coordinator of the WO-HE-LO , college yearbook. 3. Appoints and supervises the scholarship and volunteer student staffs of the college newspaper and yearbook. 4. Provides photography, copy writing, and graphic design assistance for the production of the college newspaper. 5. Provides photography, copy writing, and graphic design assistance for the production of the college yearbook. 6. Assists in preparing and distributing media releases to inform the general public and media about the college’s programs, students, and activities. 7. Assists in providing content and graphic design for college publications, including brochures, posters, post cards, the college magazine The Warrior and President’s Report , and other materials. 8. Assists in providing photographs and coverage for college events and activities. 9. Assists in providing content and updates for the college’s website and social media accounts. 10. Assists in taking and editing videos for use on the college website, social media, and local television stations. 11. Assists in producing college advertisements for radio, television, and newspaper. 12. Assists with other Office of Public Information internal and external communications initiatives as needed. 13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Public Information.
