D.24 DIRECTOR OF THE SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

General Statement of the Function : The Director of the Small Business Development Center will direct, manage, and market a business and educational services program for small businesses in the East Central Community College District. The Director will provide one-on-one counseling and educational programs to the district’s client base of small business owners. The Director will report to the Dean of Workforce Education and Development and function as a member of the East Central Community College Workforce Development Team. 1. Direct the activities of the Small Business Development Center at East Central Community College; 2. Develop goals and objectives for East Central’s Small Business Development Center in conformity to Mississippi’s Small Business Development Center and the U. S. Small Business Administration guidelines; 3. Plan, direct, coordinate, market, and deliver small business assistance services; 4. Plan and coordinate small business training activities in the East Central Community College District; 5. Serve as a team member of the East Central Community College Workforce Development Team; 6. Plan, develop, and manage the budget for the Small Business Development Center; 7. Provide direct management counseling to small business clients; 8. Plan and coordinate client services provided by outside resources including faculty consultants, SCORE, ACE, and private consultants; 9. Establish and maintain linkages with the small business community in the East Central Community College district; 10. Establish and maintain linkages with federal, state, and local agencies involved in economic development and/or small business assistance; 11. Prepare quarterly and annual reports required by the state SBDC administrative office and SBA; 12. Respond to requests and directives of the State Director of Mississippi’s Small Business Development Center Office; 13. Supervise the clerical staff associated with the East Central Community College Small Business Development Center; and 14. Other duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities :
