D.22 DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID General Statement of the Function: The Director of Financial Aid reports directly to the Vice President for Student Services and is responsible for all financial aid disbursed to students. 1. Correspond and counsel with current students and prospective students regarding financial aid programs and policies; 2. Coordinate the publishing of information about financial aid programs and policies; 3. Make certain that the appropriate applications for the various financial aid programs are made available to students; 4. Represent the College at the state and regional financial aid meetings; 5. Read, determine required actions, and file Federal Registers, Dear Colleague letters, newsletters, Federal Student Aid Handbooks, and other financial aid materials; 6. Complete the Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate and other reports as necessary; 7. Award aid to eligible students following all regulations and procedures; 8. Monitor and revise as needed the processes and procedures for the financial aid office operation; 9. Maintain a scholarship file and scholarship records in accordance With institutional, state, and Federal policies and oversee the disbursements of scholarship funds to each student’s account; 10. Coordinate all financial aid with the Business Office; 11. Monitor the maintenance of individual student files; 12. Keep proper records of the aid disbursed to each student and in each program; 13. Assist auditors and program reviewers on the local, state, and Federal levels with the review of financial aid records; 14. Coordinate and conduct financial aid workshops in the district; 15. Serve as chairman of the financial aid appeal committee; 16. Maintain NDSL records; and 17. Other duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities :
