D.19 DIRECTOR OF ABE/HSE
General Statement of the Function : The Director of ABE/HSE directs the activities of the Office of ABE/HSE which coordinates various programs operating in Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Winston Counties. The Director of ABE/HSE reports directly to the Dean of Workforce Education and Development.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Supervises the Adult Basic Education Program; 2. Supervises and coordinates the arrangements for all meetings, seminars, and special events held on the main campus of East Central Community College; 3. Performs counseling duties by assisting walk-in and telephone ABE/GED® clients requesting information about HSE testing, Adult Ed. classes, and other services;
4. Performs all duties of an HSE examiner; 5. Maintains ABE/GED® program files daily; 6. Supervises support staff to all ABE staff/teachers;
7. Maintains ABE enrollment records and compiling reports from all class sites and entering information into the AEMS online database for the ECCC ABE Program to be sent to the State ABE Office. 8. Maintains payroll records and submitting payment request forms to personnel monthly; 9. Recommends and monitors budget utilizing Excel spreadsheets; 10. Submits SBCJC ABE project application and reimbursement request online; 11. Other duties as assigned.
