Policy Title: PERSONNEL CLASSIFICATIONS
East Central Community College (ECCC) employs two classifications of full-time personnel: contracted employees and non-contracted employees. Regular appointments to full-time, contracted administrative positions at ECCC are made by the College President whereas regular appointments to full-time, contracted faculty positions are made by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation by the College President. Regular appointments to all non-contracted positions, including full-time non-teaching professional staff, full-time administrative support staff, full-time institutional support staff, full-time temporary/interim employees, part-time/adjunct faculty, and other part-time employees, are made by the College President.
Full-time
Full-time Administrators (Contracted Employees):
Contracted, exempt or non-exempt as determined by job duties, salary basis, and/or total salary, and salaried professionals whose primary duties are planning, organizing, and managing the institution or a major subdivision or service of the institution. Positions classified as administrators at the College, in addition to the College President, include:
Vice President for Business Operations Vice President for Instruction Vice President for Student Services Vice President for Institutional Research & Effectiveness Associate Vice President for Public Information
Dean of e-Learning Education Dean of Healthcare Education Dean of Learning Resources Dean of Personnel Services & Athletics Dean of Information Technology Superintendent of the Physical Plant
Full-time Faculty (Contracted Employees):
Contracted, exempt, and salaried professionals whose primary duties are related directly to teaching and paid according to the faculty salary schedule.
Full-time Non-Teaching Professional Staff (Non-contracted Employees):
Non-contracted, exempt or non-exempt as determined by job duties, salary basis, and/or total salary, and salaried professionals who provide supporting services to the college and whose position requires specialized academic or professional training and experience but who are not classified as administrators or faculty.
Full-time Non-Teaching Administrative Support Staff (Non-Contracted Employees):
Non-contracted, exempt or non-exempt as determined by job duties, salary basis, and/or total salary, and salaried staff who perform clerical, secretarial, or other duties which assist administrators, professional staff, or faculty in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
