s0rcEP EC women's soccer shuts out Northwest By ECCC sports information
The ECCC teams will host Holmes Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the De catur campus. ECCC women defeat Itawamba With wins over visiting Itawamba Community Col lege, the East Central Com munity College women's and men's soccer teams are 1-0 in Mississippi Associa tion of Junior and Commu nity Colleges North Division action. The Lady Warriors are now 3~0 overall on the sea son with the 2-0 victory over ICC Friday, Sept. 2, on the Decatur campus. Scoring for East Central were Madison Deslatte of Madison Centi:al High School assisted by Kenzie Jenkins of McLaurin High School, and a free kick by Ashley Langham, a product of Florence High School.
In the second match of the day, the ECCC men beat ICC 2-0 to improve to 2-2 on the season. Scoring for the men's team were Fredy Gutierrez of Pontotoc High School as sisted by Courtland Moore of Center Hill High School,
and Joseph Stewart of Call away High School assisted by Orion Anderson of Clin ton High School. The Warriors faced Meridian Community Col lege on Aug. 31 and fell to the Eagles 5-2. Scorers were Moore and Gutierrez.
The East Central Commu nity College women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Northwest Mississippi Com munity College on Wednes day, Sept. 7, in Senatobia. ECCC's lone goal was by freshman forward Eleanor Jones from New South Wales, Australia, in the first half. In the men's match, East Central's Courtland Moore of Center Hill High School was able to find the net against Northwest in the first half. However, the War riors fell to the Rangers 4-1. The ECCC men played to a 1-1 tie at halftime, but were unable to score in the second half. The ECCC women move to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the North Division, while men's team drops 1o 2-3 overall and 1-1 in division play.
