eanwhile, East Central captured its first win of the season in what was the opening South Division contest for the Warriors as well.
The Warriors traveled to Poplarville and pulled out a 35-21 victory over the Pearl River Community College by taking advantage of several turnovers.
Sophomore defensive back Juwon Hayes-Keyes of Taylorsville High School picked off three Wildcats passes during the contest, and he was named as the Defensive Player of the Week in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges for his efforts.
Former East Central High School all-state tailback A.J. Davis is a freshman special teams performer for the Warriors this season that is listed as a defensive back on the ECCC roster. He had a fumble recovery in the season opener for the Warriors.
The winner of Thursday's game could take over sole possession of first place in the South Division.
