East Webster head football coach Doug Wilson has watched his son and quarterback Jack

Wilson along with offensive lineman Josh McMullen grow up right before his eyes. It wasn't all that long ago Jack Wilson and McMullen were elementary school kids playing pee-wee football under Doug Wilson. Wednesday in the East Webster auditorium, the elder Wilson watched on as his two pupils took the next step in their growth. As part of National Signing Day, Jack Wilson signed on to play football at Millsaps College while McMullen inked with East Central Community College. It was a proud moment for Doug Wilson. "This is definitely special," Doug Wilson said. "I coached this (senior class} since they were in the fourth or fifth grade and Josh and Jack were on those pee-wee teams. I got to see them mature each year. They both finished out this year about as well as you can finish it out. I always talk to the team about opportunities and this is a great opportunity for them to play a little bit more football, but mainly be a part of two great schools and get a good education." For more on the signings of Wilson and McMullen, see the story by Starkville Daily News sports writer Joel Coleman in Thursday's edition. Category: Sports
