Strlckland the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and was a member of the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame for his notable golf achieve ments. He considered himself like "Ifs a Wonderful Life's" George Bailey "the richest man in town" because of all of his friends. Weddington was a longtime member of the Meridian Community College Foundation and was honored with the naming of Weddington Hall by the college earlier this year. Strickland is a 2015 honors graduate of Lamar High School. At Lamar, he was first team all-district in basketball and baseball and was low scoring average in golf. He is a freshman in the University Transfer Program at MCC. A Dean's List scholar, Strickland is a member of the MCC Golf Team coached by Ronnie Key. He is undecided on his field of study.

Reynolds awards in the prestigious Regional Scholastic Creative Writing Competition. The event is hosted by The Eudora Welty House, in conjunction with the Eudora Welty Foundation. Reynolds received two Silver Keys and one Honorable Men tion. MSA students received one American Voices Nomina tion/Best in Show. a Senior Portfolio Silver Key Winner, five Senior Portfolio Honorable Mentions, 15.ve Gold Keys, 36 Silver Keys and 33 Honorable Mentions. Every literary arts student at MSA won an award. Writing entries represented diverse categories, including dramatic script, humor, jour nalism, personal essay and memoir, short story, poetry, science fiction/fantasy, as well as general fiction and non-fic tion portfolios. • Dr. Krista LeBrun, dean of el.earning Education at East Central Community College, wus recently listed among 20 finalists for Pearson's 2016 Online Learning Excellence Awards for outstanding leaders working in the online or blended learning environ ments. The awards honor educators and administrators who have demonstrated measurable best practices and innovation in online education. As part of her selection, Le Brun attended Pearson's online learning conference, Cite 2016, in Amelia Island.
