MI-BEST program utilized at EC Program helps students earn GED, college credit simultaneously ~ ~~£~~v~!~~ mer classroom instructor for both Brandon and Newton County high schools.

DECATUR - East Central Community College in Decatur is offering Mississippi Integrated Basic Educa tion and Skills Training (Ml-BEST), a program that allows qualified participants to obtain their high school equivalency diploma while simultaneously working on college credit courses. Erin Tramill and Whitney Amis serve as recruiters/navigators for ECCC's Ml-BEST program. Tramill bolds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Mississippi State University and is a fonner case manag er at Central Mississippi Residential Center in Newton. "We are allowing students to dual enroll in the GED program and six technical hours or the equivalent in one of the following workforce programs: Heating and Air Conditioning, Collision Repair, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, and lndustrial Mainte nance," Tramill said.
