ECCC launches Ml-BEST program East Central Com– Mississippi Residential Center in Newton. Amis received bache-

munity College is now offering Mississippi Inte– grated Basic Education and Skills Training (Ml– BEST). The program allows qualified participants to obtain high school equiva– lency diplomas while working on college credit courses. The program begins in January for those who qualify. There is no cost for tuition for MI-BEST students. Erin Tram.ill and Whit– ney Amis serve as pro– gram recruiters-naviga- tors. Tramill holds a bache- lor's degree in psychology from Mississippi State University and is a former case manager at Central

lor's and master's degrees in education from Missis– sippi State University and is a former classroom instructor for both Bran– don and Newton County high schools. Students can dual enroll in the GED pro– gram and six technical hours or equivalent in workforce programs, including heating and air conditioning, collision repair, hotel and restau– rant management, culi– nary arts, and industrial maintenance.
