East Central Community College's fast– pitch softball team earned a pair of division contests by sweeping a doubleheader from Copiah-Lincoln Community College Saturday. The Lady Diamond Warriors posted a 4-2 victory in the opener and held for a 2-1 deci– sion in the second contest to improve to 23-9 overall and 7-5 in theMACJCSouth Division. Co-Lin dropped to 19-13-1 and 4-10. Dakota Vowell led the offense in the open– er, as the Neshoba Central High School prod– uct slapped a single in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth. Morgan Porter of Enterprise was the top run producer with a two-run triple. Other hitters were LaJoya Griffin of Philadelphia and Lindsey Beard ofClarkdale, single and RBI each; Marlee Massey of Neshoba Central, triple; Amber McBroom of Brandon, double; and AJ. Peeler and Ty Buckley, both of Neshoba Central. ingles each. In the second conte t, Buckley's two-run horner in the sixth inning provided EC with the winning margin. Other hitters were Massey, double; and Peeler, McBroom, Porter and Beard, singles each. Beard also scored. The Lady Diamond Warriors host Pearl RiverCommunity CollegeThursday,Aprilll. Game times for both doubleheaders are sched– uled at 2 and 4 p.m. Golf Scholarships for East Central Community College students will again be the top prize winner when the annual Warrior Golf Classic is held this summer at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Choctaw.
