. - ; Lady Warriors swept by JCJC during Ellisville campus games

Community College in the nightcap of their division battle played Friday at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur. The Diamond Warriors, who fell 8-3 in the opener, are cur– rently second in the MACJC South Division at 7-3. Jones County leads the division at 9- 3.Gulf Coast is fifth at 4-6. The Diamond Warriors, 15- 14 overall, were to take on Hinds Community College Tuesday. The Eagles are ll-17 overall and 2-8 in league play. EC travels to Pearl River Community College Saturday. The division twin bill gets under way at 1 pm. on the Poplarville campus.

East Central Community College's fast-pitch softball squad dropped a twin bill to Jones County Junior College March 26 on the Ellisville cam– pus. The Lady Diamond Warriors feU 7-4 in the opener and were blanked 8-0 in the nightcap of the key MACJC South Division matchup. Following the setbacks, EC dropped to 20-8 overall and 4-4 in league play. 1 Amber McBroom belted a ~ two-run homer and Hayley Stephens of Union contributed a two-run double to lead EC's offense in the opener. Other hitters were AJ. Peeler of Neshoba Central and Morgan Porter of Enterprise, singles each. In the second contest, EC . managed just one hit - a dou– ble by Porter. EC hosts division opponent Pearl River Community College Wednesday.

Newton County High School product Lee McDill led EC with rounds.of 84 and 77 for a 161 total. Other team members and their respective scores include Sawyer Williams. a product of Porters Chapel HS in Eldorado, Ark., 173 (89-84); Shelby Patterson ofForest, 175 (91-84); Evan Dowell of Carthage, 180 (88-92); and Aaron Tucker of Leake Central, 183 (96-87).
