Rogers, Bounds selected Mr., Miss ECCC From press reports

TateWilliamRogers of Louisville and Nicole Marie Bounds ofNewton were recently selected Mr. and Miss East Cen– tral Community College, respectively, by a vote of the student body. Rogers is the son of Don and Rebecca RDgers of_ Louisville and is a 2in~ graduate of Lou,iSville High School. He is a physical educa– tion major and member of the Warrior football team where he played center and was named to the MACJC All-State Second Team. He was also selected a team cap– t ain and received the Warriors' academic award. In addition, Rogers is a member of Theta Xi Chapter of Phi 'l}leta Kappa international honor society and was selected for Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Col– leges. Bounds is the daughter of J eff and J o Beth Bounds ofNewton and is a 2010 graduate of New– ton County High School. A communications/ journalism major, Bounds serves as presi– dent of the Student Body Association and is a member of the Warrior Corps, President's Coun– cil, Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, The Tom-Tom newspaper staff, Wo-He-Lo year– book staff, astronomy club and Wesley Foun– dation.

In addition, she was selected for Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Col– leges and was a recipient of the Sue Gunter Me– morial Scholarship, Leon Eubanks Kaljyc-Peers Scholarship and an ACT scholarship. She previously served as freshman class vice president and was elected freshman home– coming maid and fresh– man class favorite. Bounds pla ns to com– plete her associate's de– gree at ECCC and continue her education at the University of~lis­ sissippi, where she hopes to pursue a career in sports broadcasting.
