Moore and King were defeated in their matches by scores of 4-6, 6-2, 8-10 and 2-6, 0-6 respectively. In women's action, Nichole Ball of Louisville posted the only win for the Lady Warriors with her 6-3, 1-6 and 10-8 victory in singles competition. The Lady Warriors were not as fortunate and fell in both matchups. Against Pearl River, the EC men slipped past the Wildcats by a 5-4 margin after taking two of three doubles matches and split– ting the singles competi– tion. Warriors Matt Wade of For– est and Devarus Walker of Newton teamed to win their doubles match by an 8-4 score, and Lorenzo Jones of Newton and Phillip Savell of Philadel– phia cruised to an 8-3 win. Keith Brown of Forest and partner Josh Moore of Newton were edged 10-8 in their contest.
Cheryl Dowell of Lena was the lone winner for EC, as she claimed a 6-3, 6-1 vic– tory in singles. Losses were incurred by Dru An– derson of Decatur (6-2, 1- 6, 10-12) and Julie Gaines of Philadelphia (6-1 , 4-6, 7- 10). Anderson and Gaines also fell in their doubles match (4-6). The other matches were forfeits. In the matchups with Copiah-Lincoln, the War– riors claimed a 6-3 win and the Lady Warriors fell 7-1 .
