LUCILLE WOOD Bubby Johnston, vice president for public information at East Central Community College, wrote last year's cover story for Leisure on Lucille Wood, whose 52 years of service to Mississippi's community and junior colleges are an education milestone. Recognized by the Mississippi Board for Community and Junior Colleges as the longest tenured faculty or staff member currently serv1ng the state's two-year ~ colleges, Wood is now in her 53rd year in education. Ul've said I'll continue to the 2007-2008 school year - and then I'll play it by year," said Wood, a physical education/education instructor and former coach. Wood said the Decatur campus' Minteresting students" are her motivation to continue. "I enjoy what I do. I really don't • know what else I would do that would be as mteresting," she said. "I don't care about traveling. I don't watch TV. I'm not married and my family is small. I guess you could say I'm married to ECCC."
