ECCC Warrior Golf Classic raises nearly $9,000
from school reports Area students are again the top prize winners in the sixth r annual East Cen– tral Com– munity Classic, as a recor~ $8,963 was raised from the one-day <'Vent to fund scholarships for individuals residing in the t·ollege's district, which includes Leake, Scott, '1/eshoba, Newton and Win– .;fon counties. Sponsored by the ECCC \Jumni Association, the four– person scramble -heldJune :!2 on The Oaks Course at the Dancing Rabbit Club - was krmed "another success." according to tournament coordinator Stacey Hollingsworth, who serves as executive director for foun– dation and ~umni relations nt the College. "The tournament was a great event for the ECCC Alumni Association, and we thank our loyal sponsors for their participation," Hollingsworth stated. "This fundraiser would not be suc– cessful without the help of our sponsors, volunteers and the hospitality of the staff at the Dancing Rabbit." Capturing championship flight honors in the 23-team field \Wrc Chad Harrison, Bo Welch and Shane Bishop, all of Union. and Steve Hampton of Quitman, who carded a 20- under par 52 and represented Nicole F. Harrison Family Dentistry in Union. UBS Financial Services, Inc. in Meridian, finished second with a 54. Team mem– bers included Brian Temple, Barry Boatner and Clint Hales, all of Meridian, and Flint Tedder of Collinsville. The Citizens Bank of Philadelphia and Decatur team finished third with a 55. Team members included Ken ] one·, Rusty Barnett, Randy McElhenney and Taylor McEihenney, all of Decatur.
