Brenda Derbyshire (13-5) tossed a five-hit shutout Friday night as Northeast blanked the Lady Warriors for the third straight time dating back to the 2004 season. The Lady Tigers roughed up EC starter Lindsey Smith (8-3) early as they got two-run homers from Torie Malone and Amber Hass in the first inning. Marley Smith tossed the final 6 2/3 innings. She allowed four hits and struck out five. EC, 32-4, got one double each from Joy Cavenaugh and Abby Miller and a single apiece from Kristin Chaney, Dominique Mapp. and Kotreece Bender. The Lady Warriors scored l\\icc m the third inning and once in the ~ixth. Suzanne Chaney and Kristin Chaney had RBJ singles in Lhe third framr and jennifer Smith had an RBI single in the sixth. The 33-4 Lady Warriors had fiv~ hits in the game. Also getting hits \'><'H' Abby Miller and Shelly Ferguson. Lacie McCulley (28-4) took the loss for Northwest. 33 7. Marley Smith (16-0) got the win, allowing one unearned run on two hits. She struck out five.
