Radio Voice

Mike Goodwin of Carthage, longtime radio "voice" of East Central Community College football games and other athletic events, received a plaque ofappreciation for his manyyears ofservice to the College at the September meeting of the ECCC Board of Trustees. Goodwin, shown with Board Chairman Prentice Copeland (left) of Philadelphia and ECCC President Dr. Phil A. Sutphin, has broadcast Worrior athletic evenls since 1983 on his WSSI-FM (98.3) radio station. Goodwin recently sold the station to Boswell Broadcasting Company in Kosciusko but continues providing play-by-play of Warrior football games on WZKR-FM (103.3) in Meridian. In the resolution, Board members expressed "extreme gratitude and appreciation" to Goodwin for supporting the College and its athletic programs. (EC Photo)
