Denny Goodwin and Zoe Brumfield said farewell as the parent own– ers, Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. Illinois decided to apply for "main studio waiver" fo r the sration located on Bald Hill in Lake. Goodwin and Brumfield had been at the station since its opening in August of 1997. ~\LITI'f"d:

A reception honoring the newly appointed President of East Central Community Col– lege. Dr. Phil A. Sutphin was held in Decatur. Sutphin took over the position previously held by Dr. Eddie Smith. Sutphin is a Mathiston native who is a graduate of Wood College, Mississippi State University and the University ofMemphis.

Governor Ronnie Musgrove appointed Tina Mabry, MS RN CS, Family Nurse Practitioner to the Mississippi Board of Nursing. She will fill the position ofNurse Practitioner Board Member for a four-year term ending in July 2d04. In ceremonies held at Lake High School, members ofthe 2000 Lake Hornet Baseball Team received their State Champion– ship Rings. The rings, purchased by the school and the Lake Diamond Club, went to every member of the team as well as the coaches.
