ECCC'S HENNINGTON HONORED - Dr. Bettye Sue Hennington (righ t) of Clintpn, chemistry and biology instructor at ' East Central, was recently honored for her service to the college's Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. Dr. Hennington was presented a plaque of appreciation from club sponsor Carol Shackelford who cited Dr. Hennington's success in receiving a grant to assist chapter ~embers with their water quality project. Thanks to DT. Hennington's efforts, Theta Xi received over $1,00~ from NASA through the University of Mississippi, which is being used to test the quality of water in rivers and cree~ near area poultry processing plants. The water-testing project is being conducted as part of Theta Xi's honor study topic for 2000-01, "In the Midst of Water: Origin and Destiny of Life."
