ECCC FoolbaU Signees..· New East Central Community College football coach Willie Coats has crossed ~rate lines to sign players for the coming season. Coats has signed four Tuscaloosa County Alabama athletes: Rocky Smith, a 6'1" 250 lb offensive lineman; Jeff Rowell, a 5' 11" 185 lb defensive back; Mark Thomas, a 5' 11" 175 lb defensive back; and Jay Frith, a 6' I " 255 lb. of~en Si\'c/dcfensi\e lineman. Snuth, Rowell and Thomas played prep ball at Tuscaloosa County High while Frith is from Brookwood High. . -. Coats has also pulled a recrwtmg coup with the signing of a couple of players that were hotly sought by Oi\ision I schools. Joining the Warrior squad are AI Raimcy, a 6'5" 290 lb. linema:" from Hamilton High in Memphts and Ashami Webb, a 5' 11" 175 lb. defensive back from King High School in Tampa. Raimey was named to the All Memphis Area team and received most valubaJe offensive lineman honors. He made recruiting trips to Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Memphis and Ole Miss. Webb, who signed with Auburn last year, enrolled at ECCC at the beginning of the spring term.
J 994 ECCC quad have signed scholarships to attend Arkansas Tech in Ru \ellville The stgnees mclude J ames McGee, a 6' 236 lb. fullback from Canuu, Georgta; Brad Moody, a 6' I" 232 lb hnebacker from Neshoba Central; and Willie Porter, a 5'9" 175 lb. defensive back from Louts\ille. McGee and Moody were second team All-State selections a year ago and Poner was an honorable mentton pick.
