Results From Jones Tournament Prior to the Thanksgiving break, the East Central men participated in a tournament held at Jones Coun– ty Junior College, Nov. 20-21. The Warriors, led by Mark Gates' 24 points, defeated Clarke College 102-73, Nov. 21 and were outscored 92-87 by Bishop State on Nov. 20. Beside!' Gates, other EC scorers in the win over Clarke were Travis Watkins, 14; Tyrone Stowers, 13; Eric Mays, Terry Thames and Charlie Donnerson, 10 each; Michael James, eight; Tyrone Bender, seven ; and Kelvin Young, six. East Central led 52-34 at halftime. Against Bishop State, Warrior pointmakers were Stowers, 18; Gates, 15; Bender, 14; James, 13; Donnerson, nine ; Young, seven; Mays, six; and Watkins, five. The score was deadlocked 42-42 at the break.
