East Central's Mellissa Jimmerson ap- pears recuperated and back to top form as the freshman enter Louisville scored 28 points in a losing cause to homestanding Southwest Junior College Saturday, February 7. The Lady Warriors were outscored 84-63 but the East Central men, in winning their se- cond straight game, defeated Southwest 72-67. In games played February 3, the Lady , Warriors fell to visiting Utica 82-67 but 1 the East Central men, in registeringtheir , highest offensive performance of the season, outscored Utica 103-91. The East Central Junior College squads are currently heading in opposite directions, as the Lady Warriors, under Coach Sammy Pace, have lost five out of their last six contests in posting an overall 8-12 record and 4-8 in South 1 Division play. In contrast, Coach Larry Gressett's Warriors have won four out of their last six games and have improved to 7-15 overall and 4-8 in South Division action. prepare for division and state tourna- ment finals. East Central will end the season February 12 at Hinds before par- ticipating in the South Division tourna- ment February 16-20. Tournament finals will begin February 23. Besides Jimmerson's 28 points against Southwest, other East Central point- makers were Barbara Jones, sophomore forward from Lake, Wynne Stribling, fresh an forward from Carthage, 10; Faye cDonald, freshman guard from Cart age, six; and Regina Amos, F sophomore forward from Union with three. Southwest led 35-32 at halftime. 1 Gary Anderson, a sophomore guard from Bibb County, Alabama, led War- rior scorers with 21 points.
