EC Lady Warriors' efforts to declaw the Co-Lin Lady Wolves were in vain as they fell under the offensive attack led by Co-Lin's Tammie Gayton. A slow first half cost the EC men a 91-77 defeat. In ladies action, Copiah-Lincoln was in the lead.for the greater part of the first half. With 9:05 t o go, Co-Lin's Tammie Gaytofi sank 2 free throws to put the Lady Wolves in the lead, 22-20. The scoring see-sawed back and forth for the next three minutes, until Co-Lin's Coach called for a time-out to revamp the game strategy. The effort worked, as the Lady Wolves pulled into a 45-36 halftime lead. ECJC just couldn't find the basket often enough during the second half as the Lady Wolves pulled further from their reach. With 3:08 game time to go, Co- Lin was up by 20 points, 76-56. The Lady Warriors couldn't get the offense clicking'as they met with the 82-65 defeat. Karen Miller ua s high with 13 points, Sethia Tounscnd dropped in 11, Anita Union and Beverly Bouic added 9 each in the Lady Warrior effort. Leading the offense for the Lady Wolves u a s Tam- mie Gayton with 28 points. The men's game mas highlighted by several slamma jamnlas from both teams. The run and gun game saw Co- Lin take a commanding 29-16 lead ear- ly in the first half uith 10:lO to go as the Wolves packed in 2 back to back slams. The Warriors played a good offensive game but it hasn't enough as the

Leading Co- Lin's attack was Robbin Harris with 30, followed by Johnny Steptoe with 26. The East Central Ladies pulled from behind 34-32 at half to defeat the Holmes Lady Bulldogs 67-63, while the Warriors couldn't find the basket and were bitten by the Bulldogs, 75-64. The Lady Warriors took an early lead first half, but hit a cold streak where nothing would go in the basket. Halftime found EC trailing 34-32. The Lady Bulldogs attack during the 2nd half increased their lead by 13 at one point in the game. The Lady Warriors were not to be taken lightly as they t ame back during the last five minutes to win 67-63. Sethia Townsend led the Lady Warriors t o victory with 19 points, Anita Union added 17, and Karen Miller sank 10. In the men'sgame, percentages were the name of the game. The shots were there to be taken, hut EC couldn't con- nect on more than 33% during the first half, causing them to trail 40-26 at the buzzer. Midway of the second half, EC pulled within 5 points only to get too anxious and start fouling. Holmes Bulldogs chomped down to win the game, 75-64.
