C. Mills, of Morton, who was school superintendent during their varsity years but coached the Peewee team when Sue Gunter was starting out as a player. Logan's wife is the former Betty Sparks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Sparks of Hillsboro. Former Governor Ross Barnett will be present as an honored guest. Mayor Dawson said the day will include a flea market, barbecued chick– en lunch, gospel singing, entertainment, and an official program beginnin~ at 2 p.m.
Sue Gunter Day will be observed in Walnut Grove on Saturday, July 19, according to Mayor Bob Dawson, in honor of the basketball great who recently was chosen to coach the U. S. Olympic team. Currently she is coach at Stephen Austin College at Naganoches, Texas. Miss Gunter's :mother, Mrs. Iva Dean Gunter, still lives at Walnut Grove where her cage career began and extended info collegiate ranks. Mayor Dawson said all the members of the famed Walnut Grove high ~hool team, when Miss Gunter played, will attend' the ceremonies July 19 except one, Mrs. Betty Reeves Sones, who died recently in Jackson.
