ECJC Administrators Attend Personnel Work~hop

Representatives from junior colleges throughout the state discussed topics on application information. recruit– ing procedures. screening. inter– vie\\'s, final selection. record keeping and the importance of accurate data on new personnel. Two assistants from the Attorne~' General's office spoke during the afternoon session discussing "Legal Constraints Governing College Per– sonnel Procedures.'' Workshops to follow during the next two ~'ears will include management . communications. educations. staff development and finance. These additional workshops will be attended by administrators. staff or faculty members from East Central Junior College and other junior college officials in the state .

Four administrators from East Central Junior College recently attended a personnell workshop sponsored by the Mississippi Junior College Association · and funded through assistance provided bv the Phil Hardin foundation of Meridian. Attending the one day workshop at Hinds Junior College in Ravmond \\'ere EC.JC president Charles V. Wright. academic dean Brad J . Tucker. vocational director 0. L. Newell and business manager Pery 8 . Winegarden. Serving as moderator of the workshop was Horace Holmes. president of Southwest Mississippi Junior College in Summit . The workshop. being the first of six. was held to update junior college officials on ne\\' laws and to improve the working kno\\'ledge of administrators concerning the hirinf:! of personnel .
