Band Clinic Scheduled At East Central The fifth annual East Central Jr. College Band Clinic will be held on January 16 and 17. Approximately 150 high school and junior high students from East Central's five county district will be present at this annual event. James Dykes, Director of Bands at East Central stated, "The purpose of the clinic is to allow students the Educational exper– ience of a Band Clinic. There are many clinics that are limited to two or three students from each band: The East Central Clinic allows more students from each band to participate." Students will register at 3: 00 in the Fine Arts Building on Friday. Tryouts will begin at 3: 30 for the Black and Gold Bands. Both bands will be of equal value. Rehersals begin immediately after the seating of the band at 6: 00 on Friday, then resume at 8: 30 on Saturday morning. Mini classes will be conducted on Saturday afternoon by High School Band Directors from the district and Instructors from Mississippi State. Concerts by both ban,ds will be presented at 3: 30 in Huff Auditorium. The public is \pvited to attend. - ~
