i ' ~ussell is Decatur's \'Gold Deeds' winner '
seventeen years as u1rc::~tur of Buildings and Grounds. He is the son of Henry Elmer Russell and the late Clara Williams Russell. Prior to the award presen– tation, a welcome was exten– ded by club president Gus Merritt, followed by the invocation by Reverend John Cook. Musical entertainment was provided by Bill Watson at the piano. A three-screen film pre– sentation entitled •'America, Oh America The Beautiful" was narrated and presented by Dr. Robert Wall, Director of Church Relations at Miss– issippi College, Clinton. Dr. Wall was presented the Freedom Foundation's George Washington Honor Medal at Valley Forge for his film presentation.
. The Decatur Exchange bub named Clinton Russell the winner of their Golden Deeds Award Monday night at the club's annual banquet at East Central Junior Col- lege. - ···- ~. Russell was selected for l the award for his contribu– tions and service to the community. A volunteer fire– man in his hometown, Rus– sell serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Baptist Student Union for the five county area, is a Gideon, and serves as a Deacon at the Clarke Venable Baptist Church. He is also a past president qf the Decatur High School PTA and a former Church Training Di– rector. Russell has been employed by East Central Junior College fo~ the past
