BASIC COMPUTER INSTRUCTOR – TWIN DISTRICTS WORKFORCE AREA

General Statement of the Function : The Basic Computer Instructor reports directly to the Director of Workforce Development. The Basic Computer Instructor will serve displaced, under-employed, and/or incumbent workers within the East Central Community College district. The Basic Computer Instructor will be hired and housed by East Central Community College.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Teach introductory computer workshops to individuals who seek the services of the WIN Job Centers in the community/junior college district and who meet the WIN Center’s criteria for referral to training; 2. Provide an average of 32 hours of computer training per week and eight (8) hours average per week designated for class preparation, student assessment, lab maintenance, WIN Center staff training, and special projects; 3. Evaluate effectiveness upon completion of each course to provide feedback to the WIN Job Center, college and Twin Districts Workforce Area and instructor for continuous improvement; 4. Identify the programs, services, and resources available at each community college that are available to assist displaced workers and business; 5. Act as liaison and as a contact point for dislocated workers seeking training or education; 6. Determine current training services available to dislocated workers through local workforce centers, adult education programs, academic and workforce education curricula; and to implement methods to effectively communicate this information to the dislocated workers; 7. Work with community college personnel and the Twin Districts Workforce Area agency in the community college district to ensure all necessary paperwork (including but not limited to: number of individuals training, completion rates and individual success stories) is completed 9. Travel to other locations when deemed necessary or appropriate; 10. Operate under the functional control of the WIN job center manager; 11. Provide marketing/advertisements of services; 12. Complete and maintain all documentation needed to meet accountability requirements; and 13. Perform other duties as assigned. accurately and completely and routed to appropriate personnel, agencies; 8. Work with Workforce Coordinators on projects when available or necessary;
