In an emergency and/or special needs circumstance, full-time temporary or interim employees may be recommended to fill a position by the appropriate administrator to the President for approval without following the appropriate policy on Appointments and Employment Procedures. The President will present faculty appointments to the Board of Trustees for its ratification at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting after the appointment, to the extent practical. However, personnel may be employed on a full-time temporary or interim basis for no more than four and one-half months. Requests for terms longer than four and one-half months must be submitted by the appropriate administrator and approved by the President and/or the Board of Trustees, where applicable. Once the temporary/interim appointment expires, a full time temporary and/or interim employee may not move into a full-time position without following the College policy for the employment of full-time personnel as outlined in the appropriate policy on Appointments and Employment Procedures.
