Policy Title: EVALUATION AND REVISION OF COURSE SYLLABI

East Central Community College utilizes a syllabus format that integrates curriculum goals, objectives, strategies, materials, and evaluation measures to assure effectiveness in the attainment of measurable learning outcomes by the students. A completed syllabus is on file in the office of the respective Dean/Director/Division Chairperson and the Vice President for Instruction. This is a part of the College’s plan and commitment to assure instructional effectiveness and to assure compliance with the Principles for Accreditation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Syllabi evaluation, revision, and updating shall be an ongoing processes. Any significant changes in course directions, content, or expected outcomes will be reflected in the revision by the dean/director/division chairperson(s) and the instructor(s) involved. When the technical model curricula is revised, College syllabi are revised to reflect the changes in the model curricula. Under the supervision of the Vice President for Instruction, each Dean/Director/Division Chairperson coordinates the review and revision of course syllabi by the instructors who teach each course in his/her division.
