Policy Title: TEXTBOOKS
Each full time faculty should fill out the textbook request form and submit to their Dean/Director/Division Chair. The Dean/Director/Division Chair will submit the electronic Request for Textbook Change and/or Don't Buyback form through MyEC for approval and submission to the bookstore. Faculty must check the on-line site Registration-Course and Textbook through MyEC to ensure that the correct textbook is listed with the author, title, publisher, copyright and retail price. Textbooks may be sold to students who are paying out of pocket immediately following student registration. If the student is receiving financial aid generally they will wait until two days before classes begin or when the bookstore publishes the date to begin charging and the funds are posted in their account. At the end of registration students are given a copy of their schedule to take to the bookstore to purchase the proper book. Students applying financial aid to purchase textbooks may do so in the East Central Bookstore. MSVCC students enrolled in provided courses from other institutions may purchase their textbooks through the East Central Bookstore using the Book Request Form located on the college website under the e-Learning section. It is advisable that this form be submitted two weeks prior to the class start date. Students may re-sell returnable books to the bookstore at the end of each semester or during any semester by presenting a withdrawal slip to the Vice President for Business Operations.
