A Deca tur resident, Mayo was a former NASA engineer who helped

put man on the moon. He held stints at Johnson Space Cen ter in Texas, Kennedy Space Center in Florida and worked closely on the Apollo missions. He held various positions with NASA and retired in 1990 after more than 33 years of federal service. He served another 12 years as an industry consultant before retiring in 2002. He was an active student at East Central where he was a photographer for The Tom Tom and served as the first president of Theta Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He was ECCC’s Alumnus of the Year in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Betty, and two sons, Jeff and Jack. Retired Custodian Billy Joe Lucroy who retired from the East Central Com munity College physical plant staff as a custodian died Monday, October 16, 2023 at the Bedford Care Center of Newton. He was former owner of a pool hall in Decatur and was a member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church He was also a former paper carrier for The Meridian Star for over thirty years. A sports fanatic, Mr. Lucroy was an avid fan of Ole Miss football and he enjoyed fishing in his younger years. Survivors include his brothers, Roy Lucroy (Deborah) of Philadelphia and Doyce Lucroy (Betty) of Pontotoc. member Randal J. Livingston, 75, died Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home in Louisville. A Winston County native, he was a member and deacon of Singleton Baptist Church. For more than 30 years, he was a teacher at the Winston-Louis ville Vocational Center and later served as the Director of Transportation for the Louisville Municipal School District. He served more than 30 years as a member of the ECCC Board of Trustees. He is survived by his wife, Marie Pearson Livingston, daughter, Dr. Leigh Ann Livingston, son, Scott Livingston and wife, Marcy, also of Louisville, three grand children: Sydney Rogers, Hayley Rogers, and Garrett Miles, and his great-granddaughter, Navy, sister, Tina Edwards, brother, Larry (Laverne) Livingston, and sister-in-law, Joann Livingston.
