FROM SCOTT COUNTY East Central Community College students from Scott County were recently inducted into Theta Xi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges. Inductees and their hometowns include from left front: Kaitlyn Evans of Morton, Kaitlyn Ware, Anastasia Crout and Alexandria Crout, all of Lake, Tom McNair of Forest, and Alejandra Salgado and Josh Crutcher, both of Sebastopol. Second row: Emily Dykeman of Forest, Carrie Thompson of Morton, Makenzie Byrd and Brentley Comans, both of Sebastopol, Holly Hen dershot of Forest, Marley Maddox of Pelahatchie, Saylee Yount of Morton and Katlyn Harris of Lake. Approximately 135 students joined the prestigious organization, whose mission is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for indi- vidual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fel- lowship programming. To qualify, students must have completed at least 12 hours of course- work that may be applied to an associate degree and must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
