Howie All-Star Game, set to be played Saturday, :;,. June 4 in Pearl. Harper, an East 9entral Community·College signee, finishect~.~ sea~on:with a .380 batting ~? average, 1 ~ doubles, three ho"?e runs and 33 RBI~. As catcher, he threw out _':-.,3 b~~e r~nners. He's a two- :'~ year captain for the Bulldogs anCil was named Region 5-2A's most.valuable offe~s1ve playE}r. Pogue thr.ew 53 : 2/3 innings as a starting pitcher, compiling a 7-1 record and a 1.30 earned-run averagel He also stn,1ck out 71 batters. Offensively, Pogue hit .371 on the year with 18 RBis and drew a team-leading 26 walks in the leadoff spot. Pogue was a captain this season and was selected Most Valuable Pitcher inxRegion 5-2A. ' '
