The Diamond Warriors tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with three more runs, thanks to a one-run sin gle from Davis and a two-run single off the bat of Kennedy. East Central put up one run in the top of the first on a RBI single by Cole Preste gard, but the Bobcats quickly matched the Diamond War riors run with a run of their own in the bottom of the first. The ballgame remained tied 1-1 until Jones County scored eight runs in the bot tom of the fifth to run away with the game. The Bobcats scored their 12 runs on just nine hits. In Friday's tournament ac tion, the Diamond Warriors got their third straight walk off win over Jones County to advance to the first champi onship game. East Central's season ended with an overall record of 38-17, which included a Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Col leges State Championship. Jones County is 49-8 as they advance to World Series play. East Central and Jones County played in a champi onship game Saturday, May 21, with the Bobcats needing to defeat the Diamond War riors twice. Jones County won that game 12-2 to ensure that the two teams would play again on Sunday.
