EC athletes get state, national academic nods East Central

received the NJCAA Superior Academic Achievement, an honor reserved for those with a 3.79-3.99 grade point average. Chloe Thaggard, of Madden, also a softball player, was among those rece1vmg the NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement, which goes to students with a GPA between 3.6 and 3.78. In addition to the NJCAA award, Thaggard was among numerous ECCC athletes to be named to the MACJC Academic All-State list.

Community College had a successful year between the lines and its student athletes performed well in the classroom, too. In all, 65 ECCC stu dent-athletes received state and national recog nition for academic per formance during the 2015 16 academic year when the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Mississippi Assocation of Community and Junior Colleges released their lists of honorees.
