Prep notebook: Ocean Springs boys face rematch in soccer state finals

There will be a rematch Saturday with the Class 6A boys state soccer championship on the line.

Ocean Springs and Madison Central will battle for the crown for the second straight season, after the Jaguars knocked off Tupelo 2-1in the second overtime Thursday night on the road in the Class 6A North State finals.

Madison Central defeated the Greyhounds in last years title tilt. The teams will square off at 6 p.m., Saturday night at Clinton High School.

A pair of Ocean Springs players that will take the field for the Greyhounds Saturday signed soccer scholarships with William Carey University on Wednesday.

Steven Gallagher, who picked up first team all-state honors from The Clarion Ledgerfor his play in the 2014-2015 season, and P. J. Irwin made it official that they will be Crusaders next year.
