ECCC golf finishes 4th in NJCAA Region 23

Other East Central golfers in the champi onship included sopho more Tristan Hernandez of Leake Academy, who finished with a 17-over par 161 and tied for 19th; Kade Mathner of Enterprise (Ala.) High School, who tied at 24th with a score of 168; Nathan Nance out of Newton County High School, who also finished tied for 24th with a score of 168; and Graham Win stead out of Neshoba Cen tral High School, who finished 3oth with a score of 186. Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College won the championship in a playoff with Meridian Community College.

The East Central Com munity College goU team took fourth place in the National Junior College Athletic Association Re gion 23 Championship held April 25-26 at Back Acres Country Club in Senatobia. Five teams fought for a spot in the NJCAA Na tional Tournament May 24-27 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Ind. As a team, the Warriors shot 649 and fell short of advancing to the national championship. Sophomore Zack Ham mons of Raleigh High School finished ninth in the NJCAA Region 23 Championship after shoot ing an eight-over par 152
