ECCC refused to quit and came back with two late touch downs. Marino connected with Devonta Jones with 2:22 left. AJ. Davis recovered the ball one play later for the Warriors to set up another scoring drive.
Marino connected with Otis Cross on a four-yard TD pass, capping a 15-play drive with 20 seconds left to play. A touchdown was called back six plays earlier which could have given the Warriors another shot at tying the game. But ECCC kicked the extra point with 20 seconds left and the Bulldogs held on to win. East Central had four scores called back because of penal ties. The Warriors finished the night with 458 yards in total offense. Marino, who was making his first start for the Warriors after transferring from Coahoma, completed 20 of-40 pass for 225 yards and four touchdowns: Gibson was his leading receiver with two catches for touchdowns.
