Shelton State men and women win on road Tuesday

DECATUR, Miss. -- In a Monday night doubleheader at East Central . Community College, Shelton State's men's and women's basketball teams both came away with wins.
The No. 4-ranked Lady Buccaneers won, 88-76, led by 20 points from Tan Walker. The men won 86-75, led by Trae Knight's 16 points.
Also scoring in double figures for the Shelton State men were Kevin Murph with 11 points and seven rebounds and Marcus Anthony with 11 points and five assists.
East Central's Cayman Ruffin led the game's scoring with 23 points.
For the Shelton State women, CierraJohnson, Jessie Ray and Maggie Robinson all scored 12 points. Dana Echols and Kim Parrish scored 10 points. Cierra Johnson led with seven assists, and, leading under the boards with 14 rebounds was Kendrea Dawkins.
The leading scorer for East Central was Shadejha Brown with 19.
Anthony Walker, the father of Shelton State's leading scorer, Tan Walker, was an All State All Star in 1990 college football at East Central.
The Shelton State men (2-0) play at Northeast Mississippi at 5:30 p.m. Thursday APPEARED I in Booneville, Mississippi. The women (3-0) play host to Concordia College JV CARTHAGINI at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Southland International Classic.
