WTVAcom I Table set for MACJC Basketball Tournament atlCC It took overtime, but Holmes Community College (18-5, 9-3 MACJC North) defeated Northeast Mississippi Community College (15-8, 7-5 MACJC North) in Booneville to earn its second straight North Division title. Joining the Bulldogs as North Division representatives will be No. 2 seed Northwest Mississippi Community College (16-7, 8-4 MACJC North); Northeast Mississippi Community College (15-8, 7-5 MACJC North); and East Mississippi (17-6, 6-6 MACJC North) earned the No. 4 seed in North by holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over Itawamba Community College (13-10, 6-6 MACJC North). The South Division had five team vying for four spots in the MACJC Tournament. When the dust finally settled, Pearl River Community College (16-7, 10-4 MACJC South) earned the South Division championship by holding the tiebreaker over No. 2 seed Jones County Junior College (15-6, 10-4). Southwest Mississippi Community College (14-8, 9-5) defeated East Central Community College (13-10, 9-5) in overtime on Thursday to punch its ticket into postseason play while Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (18-5, 9-5) held the tiebreaker over East Central to grab the final spot in the tournament. The men open tournament play on Monday starting with Northwest and Southwest at 1:00 p.m. while the women will start at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday with Northwest and Co-Lin squaring off at the Davis Event Center. The semifinals will start at 1:00 on Wednesday and the championship games will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
