The lead was as many as 14 on two occasions in the third period, the lastwith less than a minute to go in that period. Southwest could get no closer than six points the rest of the contest. Sophomore guard Miracle Rushing out of Meridian High School led all scorers with 21, shooting 67 percent from the field in the game. Sophomore guard Alexia McDonald out of Petal High School added 15 points and sophomore point guard Jobnta' Hughes of Hatties burg High School had 11. The East Central Lady Warriors improved to 14-2 overall and ~ 1 in the MACJC South Division. The South west Lady Bears fell to 13-3 overall and 5-2 the South Di vision.

A new week brings a new challe~ for the East Central Community College Lady Warriors. Last week, the Lady War riors went on the road for a pair ofwins at Southwest and Meridian to extend their win ning streak to 10 games. Now the Lady Warriors stand at 15-2 on the season and face another critical con test this week when Jones visits on Monday. The Lady Bobcats are also tied for first place in the South Division standings. "Any division win is a good win,'" ECCC coach Crandal -Porter said. "The win at Southwest was huge for us as far as the South ls concerned. It was sort of nip and tuck all along and we sort of pulled away from them.
