Community College women's soccer team clamed a 2-0 shutout victory over Meridian Community College Friday afternoon, Aug. 21, while the iECCC men fell to the MCC ~gles 2-1 in two overtime sessions. : The matches played at }iCC's CD. Smith Field were the season openers for both ECCC squads. The Warriors fell in a heart– break.er in the opening match at Meridian when MCC's fordan Walton scored his sec– ond goal of the game at the 104th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the Eagles a 2-1 vic– tory in double overtime. Freshman midfielder Devon Pitts out of George County High School scored ECCC's only goal in the first ~off a comer kick, with the ,assist from Omar Gutierrez of Mooreville High School and Chase Hughes of Southeast Lauderdale High School.
